With tomorrow being Independence Day, it seemed appropriate to post about Robert's new found sense of independence...
There are certain things he *must* do:
~Buckle the straps on his car seat
~Make his own pb&j (using a plastic knife - I'm not sure how he even discovered that we had these)
~Put the toothpaste on his tooth brush by himself
~Be the pilot of the shopping cart and the stroller.
Why, then, when I want him to get himself dressed, he still wants me to help him? I don't get it?
Another quirky 'Robertism' of late is that he needs to be called by his name. Whenever we go out he asks "Will (s)he call me 'Robert?"' Not hard for most people since he walks right up to them and says "I'm Robert."
